About this deal

While Halloween Kills may be far from perfect, it was clearly made by people who love Carpenter's creation. Audiences at the time dismissed this as a cheeky throwaway moment in a film that’s clearly more light-hearted than the previous two entries. First of all, Season of the Witch firmly establishes itself as separate from the first two Halloween movies by showing those movies playing on TV as part of a Halloween night marathon. Even if there's nothing more to it than that, however, it will be interesting to see if the upcoming sequel includes more elements from Halloween III: Season of the Witch, such as Silver Shamrock's hellishly catchy commercial jingle, or the "big giveaway" at 9pm on Halloween night. Perhaps I'm not the right audience for these kinds of movies, or perhaps this one just simply isn't trying hard enough where it counts.

While some assume Michael used the stolen rope to rig up the moment where Bob Simms - not to be confused with Halloween Kills cameo actor Bob Odenkirk - body comes swinging out of a closet, that's not confirmed in the movie and the rope is never seen onscreen. Secondly, Halloween III ends with its main character failing to stop Silver Shamrock's commercial from playing, with the implication that millions of children across the United States are killed by the masks. Either way, Laurie is stuck in a hospital bed because the movie only follows mere hours from the events of the 2018 movie and only goes forward mere hours from there. It's a great reference to the original, but at the same time, only one the most hardcore series devotees are likely to notice. The only thing I found worthwhile from the 2018 movie was the mother-daughter drama with the Strodes, which has all but been sidelined for the 2021 sequel. With Halloween Kills, we get a similar concept of generational trauma but from the point of view the supporting townsfolk, many meant to resemble middle-aged versions of bit characters from the older Halloween movies from the John Carpenter era. I think the original Halloween from 1978 is a very solid slasher flick, but it also feels very dated today.

These masks were also seen in 2018's Halloween, but this is the first time that the Silver Shamrock tag (which, in Halloween III, contains the mechanism that kills the wearer) has been shown on them.If you're going into these films hoping for something more meaningful, I think that's a mistake right off the bat. My main issue with the film is that its the middle of what will be a saga of films and at this moment and time it feels somewhat empty. A FL native, Michael is passionate about pop culture, and earned an AS degree in film production in 2012.

The situation ends up becoming personal for a doctor accidentally involved, Daniel Challis (Tom Atkins), and Ellie Grimbridge (Stacey Nelkin), whose father was mysteriously murdered while in Daniel’s care. But are Silver Shamrock's spooky Halloween masks just an Easter egg to delight fans of the franchise, or is there something more to them? At the time, producers John Carpenter and Debra Hill were exploring Halloween's potential as an anthology series with each movie featuring a different scary story set at Halloween.

The kills aren't particularly memorable, though several are quite brutal and even a bit mean-spirited. S. Capital insurrection, watching a sea of angry, misinformed citizens run wild in misplaced fear and loathing. One sequence that seems to unite most opinions on Halloween Kills is the 1978 flashback sequence revealing how Michael Myers was arrested after getting shot six times by Dr.A nervous young Hawkins then accidentally shoots and kills the other cop while trying to save him from Michael's grasp.
