This book just seems to have been written/put together for her fans who adore the type of aesthetic she sells on her social media platforms. S., to the roof of their apartment building, where they sit down and watch the sun rise over the city.

I’m obviously interested in pornography”, Peter Greenaway admitted in 1985, and 10 years later he made his most overtly erotic film, loosely inspired by the famous ‘pillow book’ by 10th/11th-century Japanese lady-in-waiting Sei Shōnagon.Rolling Stone 's Peter Travers awarded the film three and a half stars out of four and particularly praised Johansson's performance, stating that she "speaks Samantha in tones sweet, sexy, caring, manipulative and scary" and that her "vocal tour de force is award-worthy". Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman Karen O recorded the song " The Moon Song", a duet with Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig, which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song. During production of the film, actress Samantha Morton performed the role of Samantha by acting on set "in a four-by-four carpeted soundproof booth made of black painted plywood and soft, noise-muffling fabric. There are no direct equivalents of Borowczyk, Brass, Franco or Radley Metzger in British cinema (the hardcore pornographer Ben Dover has different priorities), and serious British films about eroticism remain as rare as the more exotic butterflies on display in Strickland’s film, despite the considerable relaxation in censorship post-2000 – Michael Winterbottom’s 9 Songs (2004) being the British film most notorious for taking full advantage of this.

i was completely dumbfounded as to how this book even got published and why i see it pushed everywhere, that is, until i checked her social medias, and it was clear that this was just a cash grab. I wanted to like this so bad but it’s just another cliche poetry book with pretty pictures attached to it for the aesthetic. After all, it’s arguable that the appeal of 1940s Gainsborough melodramas was far more genuinely erotic than that of the inexplicably long-running Come Play with Me (1977) and its fusion of ancient music-hall routines with only very mildly titillating nudity. The date goes well, but when Theodore hesitates to promise to see her again, she insults him and leaves. In Film for Her, much like a visual diary, word and image are intertwined in a book perfect for both gift and self-purchase. There's lots of emotion there, but the language is too simultaneously straightforward and vague for me to really enjoy. Carloto is trying real hard to fit an aesthetic, but you can’t bend and mould poetry to an aesthetic and expect it to say anything meaningful.

Film photography isn’t just eye candy; it’s timeless and romantic–the ideal complement to Carloto’s writing. So the following 10 films are at least as much illustrations of social and historical trends as they are defining examples of cinematic eroticism in their own right. While I liked the theme and found the photos to be really interesting (especially in the 90s indie band album cover style of composition), the poems weren't for me.Apparently, film photography is Carloto's second passion next to writing and I enjoyed the spontaneous and quiet photographs. His work on the film inspired him to explore developing his own video games, eventually leading to his first title, Mountain.

Theodore confides to Amy that he is having doubts about his relationship with Samantha, and reconciles with her after Amy advises him to embrace his chance at happiness. e. dictates) a letter, it's passionate and heartfelt, and often plugs into the beating center of a relationship. The film follows Theodore Twombly ( Joaquin Phoenix), a man who develops a relationship with Samantha ( Scarlett Johansson), an artificially intelligent virtual assistant personified through a female voice. I think Carloto tries to make everything fit her aesthetic, but when you’re writing poetry that can take away the emotional connection.

If orion wasn’t a conventionally attractive youtuber she wouldn’t be published and if she was I think less people would find her work anything but fake deep. An absolutely stunning book full of honest and intelligent poetry, stories, and more— Film For Her completely blew me away. Deeper Understanding", a song by Kate Bush originally released in 1989 about a relationship between a lonely person and a computer. I think Orion's words are so beautiful, and I found myself bookmarking several pages that held passages that I felt in my heart and pages in which the entire poem just did everything for me. A work of creative brilliance may seem like magic—its source a mystery, its impact unexpectedly stirring.
