Liberon Finishing Oil comes in two sizes 250ml & 1 Litre. It is a blend of high quality oils for use on all interior woods and furniture. Finishing Oil is used to nourish and enhance the natural colour of the wood and it is suitable for the use on kitchen tables and bathroom furniture as it produces a hard wearing water resistant finish. It is for use on all types of bare woods and can also be applied to Cork, Stone and Terracotta. It produces a beautiful matt, satin or gloss finish depending upon the number of coats applied. How to use Liberon Finishing Oil

It is important to prepare the surface to receive Stain and Finishing Oil properly. Degreasing or stripping and sanding down to the raw wood is necessary. When you have properly sanded the wood, finish with 120-grit sandpaper, and then you can apply the product.Hard Wax Oil is a particular blend of tough oils combined with special waxes which dries to an exceptionally resilient finish. Ideal for anything that is going to be subjected to water splashes or a lot of handling, this oil may not be indestructible, but it will stand up to a lot of abuse. When disposing of cloths and rags make sure that they are soaked in water and fully dried out as they have the potential to spontaneously combust. We recommend using tung oil for walnut. This type of oil will darken thegrain, enhancing and protecting the wood. Not listed above, but we also have a Pure Mineral Oil used for treating chopping boards and other utensils. You could also use Boiled Linseed Oil or Tung Oil, but since the Cutting Board Oil is designed specifically for food preparation, we recommend this. What do the different Wood Oil Finishes look like?

These finishes are a historical finish for wood, primarily as means of making it weather or moisture resistant. Finishing oils are easily applied, by wiping with a cloth. They are also simply made, by extraction from plant sources with relatively simple processing. Historically, both of these were considerable advantages over varnishes, that depended upon exotic imported plant resins, complex preparation and careful application with expensive brushes. Osmo Natural Oil Woodstainis an ideal choice for exterior furniture as it is suitable for both vertical and horizontal surfaces. It is available in a clear matt finish or various coloured satin finishes. The clear finish does not protect against UV rays and allows for the surface to naturally "grey" and "age" over time (popular in rustic design schemes), whilst the coloured finishes contain varying degrees of UV protection. As a general rule of thumb, the darker the colour, the higher the UV protection. Yes definitely! For this application, we suggest brushing or wiping on and immediately removing the excess. It works well as a glaze or to add a beautiful sheen over the paint. Please be aware that the SFO, like all oil-based products, does yellow over time, and this will show up more dominantly over a white base.

If you would like an oil finish on a piece of mahogany, we recommend using tung oil, linseed oil or teak oil. These oil options are great for interior use, and will not leave a glassy sheen on the mahogany. Fill any holes, splits or gaps in the wood with Liberon Wood Filler or a suitable, alternative wood filler Hardwax oil can give a superior finish to interior wooden floors and furniture. It has a tougher protective coating when compared to other wood oils. Hardwood oils form a highly durable barrier on soft and hardwoods against water, stains, heat, dirt and wear and tear. Harddax oils such as Osmo Polyx Oil Original creates a wood finish that combinethe advantages of natural oils and waxes in one extremely fast drying product. Wood oils can be applied both directly to bare wood and timber, as well as over the top of wood stains. It is a decorative wood finish that also has protective qualities. With a pleasantly contrasting sheen over the wood grain, it brings out the natural character of the wood. Although the protective qualities are not as durable as wood varnishes, woodworkers favour its emphasis on character. To get an indication of how the wood will look once oiled, test a similar piece of wood or discrete area by applying a wet cloth to the bare wood.

There are many different types of wood oils. Certain wood types are better suited to specific oils. We have some specific blog posts all about using Danish Oil on oak and using Danish Oil on pine, to help you get the best results when oiling those wood types. Teak Oil We recommend using either a raw linseed oil or teak oil for rosewood. This type of oil can enhance the strong colours of rosewood surfaces and furniture. SFO is extremely durable; you can use it on your floors! It is mostly an oil product that soaks into wood, but it does have a bit of resin that sits on top and adds a protective barrier.
