About this deal

Overall, I’ve really enjoyed using the G7th Performance 2 capo so far. In my opinion, it is probably the best capo currently on the market. As I mentioned a few times, it’s lightweight, minimalistic, sleek, and works great. There is a bit of a learning curve when first using the capo to determine how hard you should actually press, however, it becomes second nature after a few tries. Make sure each note is clear. You don’t want ANY dead notes in a guitar chord (unless they’re marked ‘x’).

It’s unlike a trigger capo where once you squeeze to open the capo you can feel the tension. The Performance 2 capo doesn’t feel like it creates tension at all when you open / close it. By simply squeezing to attach and squeezing to release, the Performance 3 capo gives you complete and intuitive control over the pressure you place on your strings. Whether it's an acoustic or an electric, you can have confidence that you are in control and will keep your guitar in tune. T he new G7th Heritage is a premium-priced capo that combines an age-old yoke device with the company’s innovative padded crossbar—a design that required nearly no retuning of the handful of guitars I tried it on. As far as usability goes, the G7th Performance 2 capo is just as straightforward and easy to use as a traditional capo. I wouldn’t say that you’re able to change frets any faster than using a trigger capo, however, timing should be about on par. Here are 4 essential tips which will help you master the G7 guitar chord. These methods are tried and tested in thousands of hours of real world guitar lessons.

To play this chord, you must avoid playing the top 3 strings. Learn to do this here: How To Skip Strings While Strumming Why does this work? There are loads of different capos, all of which will work on different instruments. At first, it can seem a little confusing, but with our expert knowledge, you'll soon have the right one for your instrument. What is fretboard radius? The quality of this capo feels quite solid. There aren’t many moving pieces, meaning there’s less chance of a piece breaking or being defective. This change of mind return policy is in addition to, and does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law including any rights you may have in respect of faulty items. The reason for this is obvious with ukuleles as they're much smaller, less so with the other two. Because of the extra set of strings on a 12-string acoustic or electric, you'll need a higher tension to effectively clamp down the strings. On a classical guitar, it comes down to the flat fretboard radius as we mentioned before, which requires a specific capo design to work properly. What is a guitar capo used for?

ART also allows even pressure across all the strings for enhanced tuning stability and minimum tension. Exactly what you need from a capo, and it’s combined with an attractive, reassuringly solid build.

Success!

We recommend getting a capo with adjustable tension, like our Performance 2, Newport or UltraLight capo. This will allow you to stay in tune when using the capo and avoid strings buzzing. Here at Guitar World, we are experts in our field, with many years of playing and product testing between us. We live and breathe everything guitar related, and we draw on this knowledge and experience of using products in live, recording and rehearsal scenarios when selecting the products for our guides. You might be confused by all this talk of fretboard radiuses, but you needn't be. Radius refers to the curvature of this vital part of your guitar. Some guitars (like certain vintage Fenders) feature rounded boards, whereas others are near flat. While each has its own benefits, suffice it to say that different fretboard designs represent a compromise in capo design. Need to move your capo mid-song? No problem! Just grab the Axis and move it. The springs deal with the tensioning for you. As long as you’re careful not to bend the strings in the process, capos don’t come easier to use than this. Please note that warranty replacements may still incur customs/duties charges that are the recipient's responsibility.

It's worth remembering that, just like fretting the guitar with your finger, all capos will alter your guitar’s intonation to some degree. The best ones will have been designed to effect it the least, reducing the need to retune your guitar after fitting one. An adjustable capo should be at the top of your list. Here are two styles that we recommend: Performance 2 capo Find out more about how we make our recommendations, how we test each of the products in our buyer's guides and our review policy. How we choose products The Adaptive Radius Technology string pad distributes pressure over the strings perfectly by responding to the fingerboard radius of the guitar on which it is placed. This means the tuning stability is unrivalled when using a capo with ART ®. Lighter – The Performance 2 capo is also 33% lighter than the original. This is a great improvement if you are a Performance 1 owner and notice that the capo is a bit heavy.
