A new Ghostbusters film connected to the original two films was confirmed to be in development the following year, with a target March 2021 release date with it originally being scheduled for July 10, 2020. Ivan Reitman's son Jason Reitman directed the film, with a script co-written by Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan. In the script, Ray Stantz is looking through Tobin's Spirit Guide when he realizes the corporeal entity that stole the Necronomicon was a Spawn of Cathulhu. Ray read further to find when the summoning ritual is, implying an entry on the Old Ones, Cult of Cathulhu, and/or Cathulhu. [28]

The Phantom Toilet is based on the Fearsome Flush Kenner toy and was mentioned at the end of Ghostbusters International #11.A standard paranormal event is the anthropomorphic manifestation. These are the remnants of people that probably inhabited the area where the ghost is now being witnessed.
