When cutting the nozzle, make sure to do it at a 45-degree angle. This ensures an easy application as your nozzle will neatly fit into any groove. Another top tip is to create a bevel by shaving off the edges of the plastic surrounding the hole. Then remove any overhanging plastic at the sharpest point of your cut. This way, when you distribute your bead, the plastic won’t interfere with your finish. If you want a small bead of sealant, you will need to cautiously cut a very small amount of the nozzle off. If you want a larger bead, then you can cut further down the nozzle. Be conservative, if you’re not sure how big you want your bead to be, try a smaller size first – you can always add more later. Some common factors that can influence curing time include things like the weather. Humidity plays a significant role. You may be surprised to learn that faster curing times occur in humid climates. Temperature can also impact curing time. The cooler the temperature, the slower the sealant will cure. This, of course, is generally speaking and you may or may not notice different results upon application. The good news is that because CT1 can be applied in wet conditions and even underwater, its curing time is rarely affected by things like climate and moisture, etc.
After many tests and trials, we have found that the average drying time for CT1 is approximately 25 to 30 minutes. This is incredibly fast as most sealants in the industry tend to take longer to dry, which can be very time-consuming if you’re in a rush. Again, we’d like to emphasise that the initial drying time is how long it takes the skin to cure. Being dry to the touch within 30 minutes is incredible. However, this does not mean that the sealant is fully cured. As you can see, the length of time for CT1 to dry and fully cure varies depending on the individual application. However, we hope that these time estimates will help give you a better idea of how long it takes CT1 to dry. There are many different types of glues and adhesives available at B&Q, each with their own properties. For example, PVA glue is great for woodworking DIY projects, whereas superglue is perfect for smaller, more fiddly jobs like fixing broken jewellery. Epoxy adhesives are great for fixing metal and ceramics because of their super-strong bonding properties.
